A personal and professional journey

This is my 14th year as a professional counselor. Like you, I am not the same person I was 14 years ago (I confess I look older than I did when this picture was taken!). Along the way, my approach has evolved, based on my growth as a person, my training, and my years of practicing the work each day. I have pursued, and been blessed with, excellent training, especially in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Relational EMDR Psychotherapy, and in the depth tradition of the Enneagram. Each of these has enriched my life and helped me become a more effective support for others' healing. In my heart of hearts, I am committed to the original meaning of the word "Psycho-therapy," which from the Greek means, "service to the soul." This does not require a religious orientation; simply put, I long to breathe free of fear, shame, and resistance to life, and I want to help my clients experience these same freedoms.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my lovely wife and daughter, running, cooking, visiting quiet places in the mountains, and reading--lately, especially about history.
